We should not give ourselves every liberty, but the sheer enjoyment of writing a poem very quickly should be numbered among those we do. And if you ever decided, for whatever reason, that you wanted to write a fully polished work on a similar theme, you would have already taken a good first step toward doing it. I have in the course of my life written a great number of hasty poems that I could, with a little effort, improve greatly. Those are the only ones I post here... congratulations on your liberation from the drudgery of creating the masterpiece at every turn.
