Freshers fears............?

I've recently had an unconditional offer from Leeds metropolitan university to study Fine art, I've sorted out my money, accommodation and know what to expect from the course . I'm really excited bur now all I need is to get rid of these freshers nerves I seem to have. Before, in college and school my social awkwardness has been seen as a charm by some special individuals that I now call my friends but now I'm worried people at university won't like me. I have these visions that I'll be left by myself in my dorm room while everybody else goes out and enjoys them selves because I was just too dark shy. I love going out though but i'm a little un confident with my abilities to meet people. Is this normal? am I expecting WAY to much out of freshers week? golly I need some advice, and slap probably.
