Is it possible to turn an Apple Iphone off remotely? My wife has it in her bag and my girlfriend will ring it!

I Cannot believe what a dunce I am, I am sat here in a hotel bedroom and realised that I have left my 2nd Generation apple Iphone in my wifes handbag and it's still switched on, in 3 hours time my GF is going to initiate our regular text adventures and my wife being nosey will no doubt check it out. It's not good. I have tried sending my brother around to try and get it out of her bag, but she caught him looking in her bag and got a little angry. so I need to know can I switch it off remotely? My GFs number is on my phone so I can't stop her, pls help lol
