How to beat vamp in metal gear solid 4?

Equip the Syringe as your active item and unequip your current weapon. Then as Vamp get's up (make sure you are behind him), press and hold the R1 on to get him in a CQC choke hold and then press the Triangle on to inject Vamp with the Syringe and the battle will be over.
