My xbox 360 visual stuff isnt working, but sound is.?

i was playing my xbox when visual disappeared but sound is working. warranty is expired and don't have any money. i called microsoft and got step by step directions but it didn't work, changed the cables out like 3 times still didn't work, i have never been connected to xbox live and have never drooped it or slammed it. *10 points best*
