Found eachother on facebook,but could he be a player?

I rekindled a friendship with a person that is from my old childhood neighborhood,through mutual friends on facebook where we all grew up from. I hardly remember him but he says he does remember me and we sort of got to talking and reminiscing about the old days. That quickly turned into some flirtation and its become like a full fledged on line relationship. I am currently separated from my husband and he is divorced and this i know for sure through our mutual friends,but I am currently ina different country and though we have never met in person yet it is in plans for the future and I keep telling him that if he doesn't want to wait i understand and we can be just friends but he insists he will wait and that he got so hurt by his ex he is not interested in dating or seeing anybody. Im a bit hesitant about all of this as we haven't met in person yet and the cirstances how we met ,though i think its all sweet how it came to be,he told me about how there was a high school reunion of his old high school friends( I don't know them, I didn't go to the same high school) this past weekend. He said he had a great time one of his friends posted some pics of it on his facebook but he is not on my fiends list but i can Access the photos. There was one pic of him with this one woman it looked innocent like when you a take a pic with your friend and you have your arm on the shoulder and didn't think much of it but on another pic he was on his own and this same woman posted about 15 comments on it saying how hot he was and i dint know it sounded a bit of flirtation back and forth. I don't want to be jealous or anything and especially not let him on it but when we chatted today as we do daily i was very few with my words with him and he picked up on it when he asked me why i told him why and he said they are just old friends and they were just goofing around that they always been like that and he hadn't seen her in many years. He says he is only attracted and interested in me but i don't know what to believe ,is he being sincere or being a bit of player?Am i being to trusting and gullable?We do chat on the phone almost every day and on the computer alot and he even texts me through out the day.
