Are you a pilot / want to be a pilot / know a pilot? Help!?

JetDoc nailed it. Flight school isn't about how awesome you are, but rather how well you can pay for it. Some colleges offer flight programs and aviation degrees, and for that, it's the same as getting into any college. Good grades, impress your teachers in high school, etc. But for just a private flying school, anyone with the cash can get lessons. For me, it cost about $8,000 to get my private pilot license. My friends who are commercial pilots say that their total training ended up costing close to $100,000.
