Anyone know about this birthmark?

ok, my grandma has a 'birthmark' on her ear, its not a mark as much as it a .. piece of skin?? its like a ball of skin, and its right near her tragus (opening of ear). my cousin had one when he was born .. and now it seems my other cousin does too .. the doctor says it is just a birthmark .. but no name was given. so i was just wondering if anyone else had seen this and knew what they were called? thank you!
